NO ONE CAN BE PLEASING TO GOD AND TO GOD’S ENEMIES AT THE SAME TIME: Saint Gregory the Great

• “Amen I say to you that no prophet is accepted in his own country”: Our Lord Jesus Christ (Luke, 4:24).
• In giving in to the temptation of adapting Christ’s doctrine to “modern times”, seriously deforming the essence of the Gospel in the process, we are conforming to the world
• If the world hated Christ, it will also hate his true disciples.
• What Christ needs now are brave souls and not mediocre ones, souls that swim against the current and do not agree with the world.

“At that time Jesus said to his disciples: If the world hates you, know ye that it hath hated me before you. If you had been of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember my word that I said to you: The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they have kept my word, they will keep yours also.” (John, 15: 18-20).
