- We should attend Mass bearing in mind that the Holy Sacrifice of the Altar is the exact same sacrifice of Calvary, celebrated in a bloodless manner (without bloodshed) in order to apply to each of us its saving virtue for the remission of our sins. It is not a mere commemoration of the Passion and death of Our Lord Jesus Christ, but a proper and real sacrifice. Our behavior must be in accordance with this reality, and we should meditate on the sanctity of the mystery we witness. The great number of liturgical abuses that are so common nowadays demonstrate both a lack of faith and understanding that the Mass is a real propitiatory sacrifice.
