IN YOUR PATIENCE YOU SHALL POSSESS YOUR SOULS – (Lk. 21, 12-19)

In those times, Jesus said to His Apostles: “They will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, dragging you before kings and governors, for my name's sake. And it shall happen unto you for a testimony. Lay it up therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before how you shall answer. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to resist and gainsay. And you shall be betrayed by your parents and brethren and kinsmen and friends: and some of you they will put to death. And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake. But a hair of your head shall not perish. In your patience you shall possess your souls.”

Fr. Roger-Thomas Calmel, O.P. dixit

"Our combat against modernism, even if it is sustained by prayer as it should be, even if it employs the appropriate weapons, remains unequal to the evil to be withstood. This time apostasy has perfected its methods too well for it to be vanquished without a miracle. Then let us not cease to implore this miracle from the Immaculate Heart of Our Lady. Let us carry on the fight with all our strength as useless servants, while having recourse more than ever to the all-powerful intercession of Mary, ever Virgin Mother of God, for it is she who will once again be victorious over heresy."

WHAT DISPOSITION TO HAVE, AND HOW TO PRAY WHEN WE WANT TO OBTAIN SOMETHING - By Thomas à Kempis

My son let this be your constant prayer:

`Lord, if this be Your will, so let it be. Lord, if this is good and profitable, give me grace to use it to Your glory. But if it be hurtful and injurious to my soul's health, then remove this desire from my mind, I pray.'

Not every desire comes of the Holy Ghost, though it may seem right and good.

For it is often hard to judge whether a desire springs from good or evil motives, or whether it arises from your own inclinations.

Many are deceived in the end, who at first seemed to be led by the Holy Ghost.

Whatever, therefore, the mind conceives as desirable is always to be desired and sought only in the fear of God and with a humble heart. Above all, commit all things to Me, and entrust yourself wholly to Me, saying:

"Lord, You know what is best; let everything be in accordance with Your will. Give what You will, as much as You will, and when You will. Do with me as You think good, as pleases You best, and is most to Your glory. I am in Your hand; guide me according to Your will. I am indeed Your servant and am ready for anything. I wish to live, not for myself but for You alone; how I wish I could serve You perfectly and worthily!
Most kind Jesus, grant me Your grace, I pray; let it dwell in me, work in me, and abide in me to the end.

Grant me always to will and desire whatever is most pleasing and acceptable to You.

Let Your will be mine, and let my will ever follow and be conformed wholly to Your own. Let me ever will and not will in union with Yourself, and be unable to will otherwise than You will or do not will. Grant that I may die to all things in this world, and for Your sake love to be despised and unknown.

Grant me, above all else, to rest in You that my heart may find its peace in You alone.

For You are the heart's true peace, its sole abiding place, and outside Yourself all is hard and restless.

In this true peace, that is in You, the sole, supreme, and eternal Good, I will dwell and take my rest. Amen."

SHE FIGHTED TO LEGALIZE ABORTION IN ARGENTINA, SHE HAD AN ABORTION AND DIED

María del Valle González was the president of a group called Juventud Radical de La Paz, and she died this Sunday after being given a pill, to kill her unborn child, in a hospital in Mendoza.

Their motto was "Legal, free and safe abortion" but of those three "legal" is the only that’s true because an abortion will never be “safe”. Nor are they "free" since they are paid with the citizen’s taxes.

We mourn both the death of the child and the mother. The crime of the abortion indu$try should never be an option. Let's stop this genocide.

MAUNDY THURSDAY

The following day, Thursday, the Passover Supper was to be celebrated in the evening. Jesus said to Peter and John, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover." As the treasurer, Judas should have been in charge of those preparations; and because of this lack of confidence he understood that the Master knew about his intentions and about the treacherous sale of the day before. The two envoys said to Jesus, "Where do you want us to prepare for it?" The Savior answered them mysteriously, “As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters and say to the owner of the house, `The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there.” Judas listened attentively to the indications given by the Master, hoping to take advantage of them for the execution of his secret plan; but Jesus wanted the place of the Supper to be completely unknown, so that the traitor could not come to surprise Him before finishing the meal, nor disturb the mysteries that were to be carried in there. Peter and John found the man with the water jug at the city gates, they followed him and went with him to the house of his master, who showed them the upper room where they were to prepare dinner. It was on Mount Zion, in the city of David, near the palace in which the ark of the covenant long rested, where the prophet-king sang in his inspired psalms and the horrors of his Passion.

This place where the great events of Maundy Thursday took place, the Upper Room, became the first meeting place of the nascent Church. There risen Christ appeared to the Apostles and the Holy Ghost descended on the Most Holy Virgin, the Apostles and the disciples. It was in that same room that Peter, freed from prison by an angel, again found his brothers praying for him. According to St. Epiphanius, the Upper Room was preserved from the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans.
