IT IS ABSURD TO REMAIN SILENT ABOUT A DOCTRINE WHEN WHAT IS NEEDED IS TO EXPLAIN AND DISSEMINATE IT.

Saint John Henry Newman, recently proclaimed a Doctor of the Church by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, defended the title of Co-Redemptrix before an Anglican prelate who had refused to recognize it. He declared:

“When you were found with the Fathers calling her Mother of God, Second Eve, Mother of all the living, Mother of Life, Morning Star, Mystical New Heaven, Scepter of Orthodoxy, Immaculate Mother of Holiness, and similar titles, they would have considered it poor compensation for such language if you protested against her being called Co-Redemptrix.”

The term Co-Redemptrix, which in itself denotes a simple cooperation in the Redemption of Jesus Christ, has carried for several centuries, both in theological language and in the teaching of the ordinary Magisterium, the specific meaning of a secondary and dependent COOPERATION.  Then, it suffices to teach this secondary and dependent nature of Mary's role in said cooperation. It is absurd to silence (in practice suppress) a doctrine when what is needed is to explain and disseminate it, as should be done with all others. Otherwise, under the same pretext (that they might be misunderstood), it would be necessary to silence (in practice suppress) all other truths as well.

Everything suggests that what Cardinal "Tucho" actually intends is to eliminate that doctrine which is TOO CATHOLIC for Protestants (and for modernists like himself). Fortunately, the majority of the faithful, guided by their sense of faith, have rejected this imposition contrary to the honor of the Blessed Virgin, although there will undoubtedly be some naive souls who, in good faith, fall into the trap.

IN THE LAST HOUR

“Oh, my Lord and Savior, support me in that hour in the strong arms of Your Sacraments, and by the fresh fragrance of Your consolations. Let the absolving words be said over me, and the holy oil sign and seal me, and Your own Body be my food, and Your Blood my sprinkling; and let my sweet Mother, Mary, breathe on me, and my Angel whisper peace to me, and my glorious Saints smile upon me; that in them all, and through them all, I may receive the gift of perseverance, and die, as I desire to live, in Your faith, in Your Church, in Your service, and in Your love. Amen.”

GOD CALLS YOU PERSONALLY

God beholds you individually whoever you are. He calls you by your name.

He sees you and understands you as He made you. He knows what is in you, all your peculiar feelings and thoughts, your dispositions and likings, your strength and your weakness.

He views you in your day of rejoicing and in your day of sorrow. He sympathizes in your hopes and your temptations. He interests Himself in all your anxieties and remembrances, all the risings and fallings of your spirit.

He has numbered the hairs of your head and the cubits of your stature; He compasses you round and bears you in His arms; He takes you up and sets you down.

He notes your very countenance, whether smiling or in tears, whether healthful or sickly. He looks tenderly upon your hands and your feet; He hears your voice, the beating of your heart, and your very breathing.

You do not love yourself better than He loves you.

You cannot shrink from pain more than He dislikes you bearing it; and if He puts it on you, it is as if you would put it on yourself if you were wise, for a greater good afterwards. You are chosen to be His. You were one of those for whom Christ offered up His life and sealed it with his precious blood.

THE STRENGTH OF THE PARACLETE

"I only know one thing: that according to our need, it will be our strength. I am sure of one thing, that the more the enemy is enraged against us, the more the saints in heaven will intercede for us; the more terrible our trials in this world, the more present our Mother Mary, our good Patrons and Guardian Angels will be with us; the more malevolent the stratagems of men against us, a louder cry of supplication will rise for us from the bosom of the entire Church to God. We will not be orphaned, we will have within us the strength of the Paraclete, promised to the Church and to each of its members."

Cardinal John Henry Newman

"We Shall Have within Us the Strength of the Paraclete"

"One thing alone I know,—that according to our need, so will be our strength. One thing I am sure of, that the more the enemy rages against us, so much the more will the Saints in Heaven plead for us; the more fearful are our trials from the world, the more present to us will be our Mother Mary, and our good Patrons and Angel Guardians; the more malicious are the devices of men against us, the louder cry of supplication will ascend from the bosom of the whole Church to God for us. We shall not be left orphans; we shall have within us the strength of the Paraclete, promised to the Church and to every member of it."

Prayer for a Happy Death

Oh, my Lord and Saviour, support me in that hour in the strong arms of Your Sacraments, and by the fresh fragrance of Your consolations. Amen.
