THE ABANDONMENT IN OUR FATHER’S ARMS

“Just as the sun shines at the same time on trees and flowers, like each was the only one on earth, so does our Lord care for all souls in a special manner, as if they were each unique.

“And just like in nature, all seasons are ordered so that the humblest daisy blooms on a fixed day, in the same way everything contributes to the Good of every single soul.

“Holiness is not one exercise or another. It consists in a disposition of the heart, which renders us humble and little in the hands of God, conscious of our weakness but confident, even daringly confident, in God’s goodness.

“Jesus chose to show me the only path that leads to this divine furnace. That path is the abandonment of a Little child who sleeps in his Father’s arms without any fear.

“My little way is the way of spiritual childhood, the way of trust and absolute self-surrender.”

Saint Therese of Lisieux

FATIMA, 102 YEARS AGO

On September 13, before a crowd of about 25 to 30,000 people, the Mother of God told the children to continue saying the Rosary “to obtain the end of the war. In October, Our Lord will also come, as well as Our Lady of Sorrows and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and Saint Joseph with the Child Jesus, to bless the world.” Then, in answer to many requests to be healed and in order that the reality of the apparitions might be made known to all, the Blessed Virgin announced that the next month she would work a great miracle. Before returning to Heaven, she declared: “In October, I will perform a miracle for all to believe.”

The last apparition of Our Lady in Fatima thus took place on October 13, 1917. An immense crowd of over 50,000 people had come. Many unbelievers, Freemasons and Socialists mingled with the crowd of pilgrims and curious spectators.

The weather was foul, it was raining and the ground of the Cova da Iria, trampled like never before, was muddy. The Rosary was recited before the Blessed Virgin appeared to the children. As usual, a change in the light, announcing the apparition, was seen by the witnesses. Above the holm-oak, the Immaculate Virgin began to dictate her desires, faithfully recounted by Lucia: “I wish to tell you that I want a chapel built here in my honor. I am the Lady of the Rosary. Continue to pray the rosary every day. The war is going to end, and the soldiers will soon return to their homes.”

The children then told her of several requests to be healed confided to them by the faithful. “Some will be healed, others no. They must amend their lives and ask forgiveness for their sins. Let them offend Our Lord no more for He is already much offended,” said Our Lady. This was the essence of the message of Fatima, with the remedy: devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Then Our Lady rose and shone the light issuing from her hands onto the sun, and all turned to it.

The Dance of the Sun

The rain stopped instantaneously, the clouds disappeared, and the sky became clear. Unexpectedly and inexplicably, everyone in the crowd was able to look directly at the sun without burning their eyes or feeling any discomfort whatsoever. At this great miracle that defied all the laws of nature, there was a great silence. But suddenly the sun began to tremble with jerky movements. Then it spun at a dizzying speed, casting flames of light of every color of the rainbow. It seemed to come towards the earth in a rapid rotating movement, zigzagging, and the crowd began to cry out. All fell to their knees, imploring Heaven. Some fainted. At last, it all stopped, and the sun resumed its normal and natural course. In a few moments’ time, the clothes soaked by the rain had completely dried.

Over 50,000 people, believers and non-believers, witnessed this prodigy. However, no astronomical observatory recorded it, which proves that it was preternatural. The journalists who were present saw and told the story. Even people several miles from Fatima saw it, which destroys the hypothesis of an optical illusion or a collective hallucination.

Avelino de Almeida published his testimony on October 15, 1917, in the newspaper O Século. Editor-in-chief of this liberal and anticlerical newspaper, he was honest enough to write down loyally exactly what he had seen:

Suddenly there arose an immense clamor, and those closest to the crowd heard them shout: ‘Miracle! Miracle! Wonder! Wonder!’… Before the amazed eyes of these people, the sun trembled, the sun made unusual and jerky movements that defied all the cosmic laws, ‘the sun danced’, in the typical expression of the peasants. Miracle, as the people cried out? Natural phenomenon, as the scholars say? For now, I do not care, I am only saying what I saw.

As for the three children, they were able to admire three grandiose visions during the few minutes this cosmic miracle lasted.

Next to sun appeared first the Holy Family: St. Joseph with Our Lady and the Child Jesus, who blessed the world, raising His hand in the form of a cross. Then the children saw Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows with Our Lord Jesus Christ, who again blessed the world. Lastly, Our Lady of Mount Carmel appeared alone.

Such was the last of Our Lady’s apparitions in Fatima, over a hundred years ago, on October 13, 1917.

OCTOBER 7: OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY

  • A GREAT DAY FOR CHRISTIANITY!
  • WHY IS THE FEAST OF OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY CELEBRATED ON OCTOBER 7?

All Christian Europe was about to be invaded by the Muslims. Had that been the case, the history of the world would have been completely different. And only God knows what darkness would have invaded all the Christian peoples... just imagine the current persecution in Syria, all Middle East and Africa!

Pope St. Pius V called the Christian nations to form an army to defeat them. Who would command the Christian Armed Forces?!... He celebrated a Mass so that God would illuminate him... and while he was reading the Last Gospel he read ... "there was a man sent from God, whose name was John..." "Heaven has answered," he thought, "Don Juan of Austria, a great man, Christian, soldier, illegitimate son of Charles V, great-grandson of the great Isabel la Católica, would guide the Christian army, infinitely smaller than the Muslim army."

The decisive battle was fought at Lepanto in 1571 ... the enemy forces were far superior, the Pope was praying, the Vatican was wielding the Rosary... and at that moment he had a vision: the Christian army had miraculously won! Christianity had been spared of the invasion that would have ended with all the Christianity in Europe! Thanks to the Holy Rosary!

Therefore, the Pope instituted the Feast of the Holy Rosary on October 7, when the Battle of Lepanto was won.

Let us reflect ... a grandson of Isabel la Católica... the praying of the Holy Rosary...

The year 1571 witnessed "the most memorable and high occasion that the last centuries have witnessed and that future ones may hope to see," said Miguel de Cervantes, the Manco of Lepanto. At the geographical and historical crossroads of the Gulf of Lepanto, Spain, once again provided a decisive battle for the destiny of mankind.

Today we are fighting an even worse battle... we will have to do our part...

For this reason, there is a particular urgency of unity today, when a silent Muslim infiltration is invading Europe, when it is trying to dismember Christianism, when human sacrifices are renewed - through the crime of abortion - in many countries and, paradoxically, in Mexico where Our Lady of Guadalupe came to abolish them, when the Church is occupied - to a great extent - by forces that try to destroy it from the inside, when the dictatorship of relativism invades and numbs consciences, when the family is the target of all the attacks from the infernal forces.

Let us pray our Rosary for our nations during this month, asking for forgiveness for the sins that we commit as a nation, and especially for the abortion. Let us console the heart of Our Lady and strive to eradicate abortion and ban it in our countries.

May God help us all to pray the Holy Rosary with all our hearts, and to do penance so that through the intercession of Our Lady this GREAT BATTLE THAT CHRISTIANITY IS WAGING AGAINST THE DEVIL IS WON.

LORD, MAKE ME AN INSTRUMENT OF YOUR PEACE!

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master!
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
 it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life." Amen.

Saint Francis of Assisi

A WARNING FROM PADRE PIO

"When you see a soul that announces abortion as a benign act, you will know that the prince of darkness reigns in it and that it is in danger of eternal death."

Padre Pio

H.H. PIUS XII WARNED US ON THE INNOVATORS WHO TRY TO DESTROY THE CHURCH

“I am concerned about the messages of the Virgin to the little Lucia of Fatima. This persistence of the Good Lady in face of the danger that threatens the Church is a divine warning against the suicide that the alteration of the Faith, in its liturgy, its theology, and its soul, would represent. I hear around me innovators who wish to dismantle the Sacred Chapel, destroy the universal flame of the Church, reject her ornaments, and make her remorseful for her historical past. A day will come when the civilized world will deny its God, when the Church will doubt as Peter doubted. She will be tempted to believe that man has become God. In our churches, Christians will search in vain for the red lamp where God awaits them. Like Mary Magdalene, weeping before the empty tomb, they will ask, ‘Where have they taken Him?’”

(Pope Pius XII, cited in Bishop Roche, Pius XII Devant l'Histoire, pp. 52-53).
