One month after conception, a human being is one-sixth of an inch long. The tiny heart has already begun beating for a week, and the arms, legs, head, and brain have already begun to take shape. At two months, the child already fits in a nutshell: curled up, the person measures little more than an inch. Inside your closed fist, the person would be invisible, and you could squash them without intending to, or even realizing it.
