ANNE CATHERINE EMMERICH’S VISIONS AND REVELATIONS

“I saw within a city, a meeting of clergy, laymen and women, who were sitting together, eating and making frivolous jokes, and above them a dark cloud which descended in a plain submerged in darkness. Amid this fog, I saw Satan sitting and around him, many companions as people were in the meeting which was going on underneath. All these evil spirits were continually moving and busy trying to push the people at this meeting to do evil. They whispered to them to their ears and acted on them in all possible ways. These people were in a very dangerous state of sensual excitement and in provocative conversations. Churchmen were those whose principle were: “You have to live and let live. In our time we should not be apart or be a misanthrope (a person who hates or distrusts humankind): we must rejoice with those who rejoice.”

MARY TOOK CARE WITH LOVE THAT NOT EVEN A DROP OF JESUS' BLOOD WAS LOST, WHEREAS NOW PRIESTS GIVE COMMUNION IN THE HAND AND CONSECRATED PARTICLES FALL TO THE GROUND

THE VIRGIN MARY DURING THE SCOURGING OF HER SON JESUS CHRIST, ACCORDING TO THE VISIONS AND REVELATIONS OF BLESSED ANNE CATHERINE EMMERICH:

"I saw the Blessed Virgin, during the scourging of our Redeemer, in a state of uninterrupted ecstasy. Mary saw her lacerated Son driven past her by the executioners. With His garment He wiped the blood from His eyes in order to see His Mother. She raised her hands in agony toward Him and gazed upon His bloodstained footprints. Then, as the mob moved over to another side, I saw the Blessed Vir¬gin and Magdalen approaching the place of the scourg¬ing. Surrounded and hidden by the other holy women and some well-disposed people standing by, they cast themselves on their knees and soaked up the sacred Blood of Jesus with the linens until not a trace of it could be found."

This scene was represented by Mel Gibson in his film THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST.
