The First Christmas in Freedom of Asia Bibi: with Her Husband and Surrounded by Uncertainty

For Asia Bibi this will be her first Christmas in freedom in the last nine years, and it will be a bittersweet Christmas because she will spend it, together with her husband, in a secret place under the protection of the Pakistani government. At the moment she cannot enjoy with all her family reunited or start a new life free of threats, because she is waiting for the Supreme Court of Pakistan to examine, probably in January, the request to review the acquittal of the crime of blasphemy against her, established by the High Court on October 31. Asia Bibi’s lawyers are confident that her acquittal will be definitively confirmed and then the government will grant the entire family a visa to travel to one of the countries that have offered them asylum.

Let's not forget that meanwhile, Asia and her family are being targeted by Islamist fanatics. In fact it is not known how she will celebrate Christmas, if she will be able to attend Christmas Mass, or if a priest will be allowed to visit her so that she can receive the Sacrament of Penance and the Eucharist that she so much wishes.

In any case, the history of Asia Bibi has allowed the horrendous abuses committed under the umbrella of the blasphemy law to come to light, which continues to produce innocent victims in a country that radical Islamists consider "the land of the pure." A land where Christians are ready to celebrate Christmas under strict security measures; a country in which violence and hatred have not succeeded in extinguishing the testimony of Jesus who is reborn.

November 16, La Gaceta.- In 2009, Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Catholic, knelt to drink water from a well. Seeing her quench her thirst, a group of Muslim women accused her of having polluted, by virtue of her Christian condition, that water that had hitherto been pure. Bibi replied to this with unspeakable courage: 'I believe in my religion and in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for the sins of humanity. What did your prophet Muhammad do to save mankind?

Accused of blasphemy against the Koran for this assertion, a court sentenced Bibi to death, who, from then on, would live a true legal calvary. Minority Minister Shabahz Bhatti and Punjab Governor Saalman Taser (both assassinated in terrorist attacks), worked hard to free her from an illegitimate sentence, but social pressure went the other way: it demanded the strictest application of the blasphemy law, which, based on the Sharia, is responsible for more than 1,000 convictions in Pakistan.

In October 2016, as a result of the refusal of a judge to participate in it, the definitive trial for the release - or final execution - of this Catholic mother was postponed without a date. Since then, the international pressure to save Bibi has vigorously continued and hope remains unscathed.

Recently, the case of Asia Bibi has drawn renewed interest. That is why, more than a thousand Muslims have taken to the streets of Islamabad, the Pakistani capital, in order to impel both the Government and the Supreme Court to execute the faithful Catholic. The protesters, who belong to various Islamic fundamentalist groups, have also called for the release of imprisoned Muslim religious leaders and the dismissal of Justice Minister Zahid Amid.

21 CHRISTIANS BEHEADED BY ISLAMIC STATE TERRORISTS IN EGYPT

Madrid, 16 Feb. 15 / 9:27 am (ACI)– Islamic State (IS) released a video on Sunday that shows the beheadings of 21 Coptic Christians in Egypt, who had been kidnapped between December and January. 

The five-minute video released Sunday night entitled “A Message Signed with Blood to the Nation of the Cross” depicts 21 Egyptian Christians dressed in orange suits kneeled beside a group of members of the Islamic State.

In the video one of the killers in camouflage declared in North-American English: "Oh people, recently you've seen us on the hills of Al-Sham [Greater Syria] and on Dabiq's Plain, chopping off the heads that had been carrying the cross delusion for a long time, filled with spite against Islam and Muslims, and today we are on the south of Rome, on the land of Islam, Libya, sending another message.”

The video ends showing a bloody sea. “The sea you have hidden Sheikh Osama bin Laden’s body in, we swear to Allah we will mix it with your blood. The filthy blood is just some of what awaits you, in revenge for Camelia and her sisters”. Referencing Camelia Shehata, a Coptic Egyptian woman and wife of a Coptic priest and Wafa Cinstantine, who Islamists believe had converted to Islam and were detained by the Coptic Church because of it.

In the video we can see how several of the Christians pray before being killed, while one of their executioners calls them crusaders.

The President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced a seven-day period of national mourning for the assassination of the Coptic Christians, who represent a 10 percent minority of the population of the country, and called for an urgent meeting with the country's top security body.

"We have seen the painful video and we can say with conviction that the dead are our abducted children”, Coptic Church spokesman Bolis Halim told the official Middle East News Agency.

“We are certain that our nation will not rest until the criminals receive the rightful punishment”, he added.

While high birth rates are becoming the most powerful weapon of Islam, Western countries that apostatize from their Catholic faith and fail to comply with the duty of fruitfulness in marriage are becoming sterile. The latter is due to planned and systematic propaganda that will eventually turn Western countries into a minority and/or will cause their extinction within a few decades. Their places and countries will then be occupied by Muslim immigrants.
