Pius XII noted that the Secret of Fatima warned of apostasy in the Church, but was ignored by his successors

A notable, though indirectly relevant, testimony is that of Cardinal Eugenio Pacelli—before becoming Pope Pius XII—when he was Secretary of State of the Vatican during the reign of Pius XI.

The future Pius XII made an astonishing prophecy about a future upheaval in the Church:

"I am troubled by the messages of the Blessed Virgin to Lucy of Fatima. This persistence of Mary in the face of the dangers that threaten the Church is a warning from Heaven against the suicide of altering the Faith in its liturgy, its theology, and its soul. (...) I hear around me innovators who want to dismantle the sacred Chapel, destroy the universal flame of the Church, reject its ornaments, and make it feel remorse for its historical past."[1]

Pope Pius XII's biographer, Monsignor Roche, noted that at this point in the conversation, Pius XII then said, in response to an objection:

"A day will come when the civilized world will deny its God, when the Church will doubt as Peter doubted. She will be tempted to believe that man has become God. In our churches, Christians will search in vain for the red lamp [of the Tabernacle] where God awaits them. Like Mary Magdalene, weeping before the empty tomb, they will ask: 'Where have they taken him?'"[2]

It is truly astonishing to note that the future Pope linked this seemingly supernatural intuition of the Church's impending devastation specifically to "the messages of the Blessed Virgin to Lucy of Fatima," and to "this persistence of Mary in the face of the dangers that threaten the Church." Such a prediction would be meaningless if it were based on the first two parts of the Great Secret, which do not mention things like "the suicide of altering the Faith in its  liturgy, its theology, and its soul," or "innovators who want to dismantle the sacred Chapel, destroy the universal flame of the Church, reject its ornaments, and make it feel remorse for its historical past." Nor is there any indication in the first two parts that "In our churches, Christians will search in vain for the red lamp where God awaits them."

How did the future Pope Pius XII know these things? It is evident that he was granted a supernatural vision, or else that he had direct knowledge that a part of the "messages of the Blessed Virgin to Lucy of Fatima," which until then had not been revealed, predicted these future events in the Church. In short, all the testimonies about the content of the Third Secret, from 1944 to at least 1984 (the date of the famous Ratzinger interview), confirm that it refers to a catastrophic loss of Faith and discipline in the Church, opening a breach for the forces long aligned against Her: the "innovators" whom  The future Pope Pius XII listened to those around him, calling for the dismantling of the sacred chapel and changes in Catholic liturgy and theology.

As we have seen, this breach began to develop in 1960, the very year in which, as Sister Lucy had insisted, the third part of the Secret was to be revealed.

Words of Saint Jacinta Marto to her cousin Lucia, both had the privilege along with Saint Francisco Marto of contemplating the Blessed Virgin Mary in Cova da Iria.

Catholic News Agency. The Vatican has confirmed that Pope Francis is inviting the world’s bishops to join him in consecrating Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Matteo Bruni, director of the Holy See press office, issued the confirmation on March 18.“I confirm that Pope Francis has invited the bishops of the whole world and their priests to join him in praying for peace and in consecrating and entrusting Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary,” he said.

CNA reported on March 17 that the pope intended to invite all Catholic bishops and priests around the world to join in the act of consecration.

In a letter sent urgently on Mar. 17 to all U.S. bishops, the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, Archbishop Christophe Pierre, revealed that Pope Francis intends to invite all Catholic bishops and priests around the world to join the Act of Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The letter, sent by Reverend Michael J.K. Fuller, General Secretary of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and signed by Archbishop Pierre, reveals that "(t)he Holy Father intends to invite each Bishop, or equivalent in law, together with his priests, to join in this act of consecration, if possible, at an hour corresponding to 5:00 pm Rome time."

"In the coming days," adds the letter, “the Holy Father will address a letter of invitation to the Bishops, enclosing the text of the Prayer of Consecration in the various languages."

Catholic bishops in Latin America and the Caribbean have already indicated that they will take part. The Catholic bishops of the Philippines have also signaled their intention to join in the act of consecration, as have the bishops of England and Wales.

On the same day that the pope carries out the consecration in Rome, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, the papal almoner, will recite the act of consecration at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal.

NOTE FROM THIS BLOG:

Today (22‐III‐22) the Pope has said that it will be a solemn Act of Consecration OF HUMANITY, and Russia and Ukraine in particular, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. 

It was not the consecration of humanity, although Russia and Ukraine are especially mentioned, that was requested at Fatima.

We have no doubt that this consecration will certainly be valid and will have some good effect, but again it will be incomplete as the previous ones have been. The grace of Russia's conversion to the Catholic faith -promised by the Virgin of Fatima if her request were fulfilled- will not yet be given, at least not completely.

The fulfillment of what Our Lady asked in Fatima so that her Immaculate Heart finally triumphs, is still pending.

DESTROYING THE FAMILY

Family is and will always be the same, the one built by the West on the basis of human nature. So now they go for more. They want, in this final battle, to culminate the modern utopia with the outright abolition of the family, because as long as those authentic marriages that worship God and raise children in true faith persist, heretical modernity will not have fully triumphed. 

 Hence the spread of gender ideology, contraceptives (many of them also early abortifacients), the crime of abortion, free love, divorce, adultery, etc. and everything that goes against this holy Sacrament.

ACT OF CONSECRATION TO OUR LADY OF FATIMA

O Most Holy Virgin Mary, who at Fatima manifested yourself to the three little shepherds, and who in your maternal goodness revealed to them the greatness of your Immaculate Heart, to prevent souls from being eternally lost. 

 Relying on your promise that your Immaculate Heart will be our safe refuge and the path that will lead us to God; I ………………………………………… consecrate myself freely to your Immaculate Heart.

 From now on, I want to be your son/daugther so that you teach me to live the commandments of God, which are the way to holiness. 

 I consecrate my body, my soul, my spirit to you, so that in the future I will not stray from God.

 Take me, Holy Virgin, from now on, to make me an apostle of your Immaculate Heart. Amen. 

FATIMA, 102 YEARS AGO

On September 13, before a crowd of about 25 to 30,000 people, the Mother of God told the children to continue saying the Rosary “to obtain the end of the war. In October, Our Lord will also come, as well as Our Lady of Sorrows and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and Saint Joseph with the Child Jesus, to bless the world.” Then, in answer to many requests to be healed and in order that the reality of the apparitions might be made known to all, the Blessed Virgin announced that the next month she would work a great miracle. Before returning to Heaven, she declared: “In October, I will perform a miracle for all to believe.”

The last apparition of Our Lady in Fatima thus took place on October 13, 1917. An immense crowd of over 50,000 people had come. Many unbelievers, Freemasons and Socialists mingled with the crowd of pilgrims and curious spectators.

The weather was foul, it was raining and the ground of the Cova da Iria, trampled like never before, was muddy. The Rosary was recited before the Blessed Virgin appeared to the children. As usual, a change in the light, announcing the apparition, was seen by the witnesses. Above the holm-oak, the Immaculate Virgin began to dictate her desires, faithfully recounted by Lucia: “I wish to tell you that I want a chapel built here in my honor. I am the Lady of the Rosary. Continue to pray the rosary every day. The war is going to end, and the soldiers will soon return to their homes.”

The children then told her of several requests to be healed confided to them by the faithful. “Some will be healed, others no. They must amend their lives and ask forgiveness for their sins. Let them offend Our Lord no more for He is already much offended,” said Our Lady. This was the essence of the message of Fatima, with the remedy: devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Then Our Lady rose and shone the light issuing from her hands onto the sun, and all turned to it.

The Dance of the Sun

The rain stopped instantaneously, the clouds disappeared, and the sky became clear. Unexpectedly and inexplicably, everyone in the crowd was able to look directly at the sun without burning their eyes or feeling any discomfort whatsoever. At this great miracle that defied all the laws of nature, there was a great silence. But suddenly the sun began to tremble with jerky movements. Then it spun at a dizzying speed, casting flames of light of every color of the rainbow. It seemed to come towards the earth in a rapid rotating movement, zigzagging, and the crowd began to cry out. All fell to their knees, imploring Heaven. Some fainted. At last, it all stopped, and the sun resumed its normal and natural course. In a few moments’ time, the clothes soaked by the rain had completely dried.

Over 50,000 people, believers and non-believers, witnessed this prodigy. However, no astronomical observatory recorded it, which proves that it was preternatural. The journalists who were present saw and told the story. Even people several miles from Fatima saw it, which destroys the hypothesis of an optical illusion or a collective hallucination.

Avelino de Almeida published his testimony on October 15, 1917, in the newspaper O Século. Editor-in-chief of this liberal and anticlerical newspaper, he was honest enough to write down loyally exactly what he had seen:

Suddenly there arose an immense clamor, and those closest to the crowd heard them shout: ‘Miracle! Miracle! Wonder! Wonder!’… Before the amazed eyes of these people, the sun trembled, the sun made unusual and jerky movements that defied all the cosmic laws, ‘the sun danced’, in the typical expression of the peasants. Miracle, as the people cried out? Natural phenomenon, as the scholars say? For now, I do not care, I am only saying what I saw.

As for the three children, they were able to admire three grandiose visions during the few minutes this cosmic miracle lasted.

Next to sun appeared first the Holy Family: St. Joseph with Our Lady and the Child Jesus, who blessed the world, raising His hand in the form of a cross. Then the children saw Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows with Our Lord Jesus Christ, who again blessed the world. Lastly, Our Lady of Mount Carmel appeared alone.

Such was the last of Our Lady’s apparitions in Fatima, over a hundred years ago, on October 13, 1917.

On 13 October 1917, Our Lady of Fatima appeared to the three shepherds for the last time, and 70,000 people witnessed in Cova da Iria the "dance of the sun":

"At one o'clock in the afternoon, solar noon, the rain ceased, the pearly gray sky illuminated the vast arid region with a strange light.

The sun was covered by a transparent gauze veil that made it easy to stare at it.

The gray shade turned into a silver foil that broke when the clouds opened.

And the silver sun, wrapped in the same veil of gray light, was seen rotating and moving in the circle of open clouds.

A groan was heard from every mouth and people fell to their knees on the muddy ground.

The light turned into a beautiful blue, as if it went through a stained glass window of a cathedral.

And it spread his beams over the people who were on their knees with outstretched arms.

The blue disappeared slowly, and then the light seemed to pierce a yellow glass.

The yellow light tinged the white handkerchiefs and the dark skirts of the women.

The same thing happened in the trees, the stones and in the mountains. People wept and prayed with their heads uncovered in the presence of the miracle they had hoped for. The seconds seemed like hours, so intense were they."

A sign of Hope in Syria: The City of Aleppo Was Consecrated to Our Lady of Fatima

ROME, May 15. 17 (ACI) .- The city of Aleppo, released from the control of rebels and jihadist groups at the end of 2016, but still suffering the consequences of the civil war in Syria, was consecrated this May 13 to Our Lady of Fatima, on the commemoration of the 100 years of this apparition in Portugal.

The Mass of consecration took place in the Latin Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi, which is also known as the Latin Church of the Franciscans.

The Mass was celebrated on the same day of the canonization of the shepherds Saint Francisco Marto and Saint Jacinta Marto in the Sanctuary of Fatima.

According to the Latin Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi on its Facebook page, an image of Our Lady of Fatima was present at the Mass of consecration, that was sent directly from the sanctuary in Portugal.

After it, the image was taken in procession by the Christian neighborhood of al-Azizieh, that suffered constant attacks of the rebel groups.

Through their Facebook page, SOS Christians in Syria pointed out that the temple was full of worshipers and that they were happy and excited because there had not been a procession with the image of Our Lady of Fatima since many years ago.

"Let us give thanks to God for this day of heaven that we had the chance to live and entrust the Christians of Aleppo to our Blessed Mother. May she, Queen of Peace, since she gave the Prince of Peace to the world, grant us the long-sought peace for the Middle East and the whole world.”

The consecration of Aleppo was part of the program of activities organized by the Latin Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi on the occasion of the centenary of the apparitions of Our Lady in Fatima.

The cathedral indicated through its Facebook page that the celebrations began on the 11th with a community prayer and a procession with the image of Our Lady sent from Fatima.

"Many of us cry because after six years we can re-organize the procession through the streets of Aleppo without fear of missiles. We welcome with emotion Our Lady of Fatima in Aleppo and hope that the Virgin Mary will pray for peace for all of Syria," they said.

On October 13, 2016, at the closing of the last international pilgrimage of the year in the Shrine of Fatima, the Bishop of Leiria-Fatima, Antonio Marto, blessed an image that would be sent to the "martyr diocese" of Aleppo.

Nowadays in this city the living conditions are very hard because food is scarce, and drugs, water and electricity services have not yet been restored.

The three little shepherds of Fatima: Francis, Jacinta and Lucia, being only little children, gave us a remarkable example of love of God, they showed us their dedication to prayer, their great courage to endure trials and the willpower to offer sacrifices for the salvation of souls.

What can we do to be like these little shepherds?

We should go to Confession and ask for forgiveness. Make frequent confessions with true repentance and a firm purpose not to sin again.

We must abhor mortal sin and prefer death before we backslide in it. The devotion of the three Hail Marys asking Our Lady to help us, as explained here (http://www.catholicityblog.com/2016/01/the-three-hail-marys-devotion.html), will be very useful for this.

We should say many times the first prayer taught by the Angel of Peace:

“My God, I believe, I adore, I trust, and I love thee! I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love thee.”

We should pray before and after Communion, and before the Blessed Sacrament, the prayer taught by the Angel of Peace:

“O most Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Ghost—I adore thee profoundly. I offer thee the most Precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ— present in all the tabernacles of the world—in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.”

We should pray the Rosary every day, saying after each mystery, the prayer taught by Our Lady:

“O my Jesus, forgive us our sins; save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls into Heaven, especially those who are in most need of thy mercy.”

We should practice the Devotion of the First Saturdays of the month requested by our sweet Mother.

We should practice and spread the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, consecrating ourselves to it.

We should live a chaste life in our customs and fashions.

A Solemn Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Most Holy Virgin Mary, tender Mother of men, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the request of the Vicar of Your Son on earth, we consecrate ourselves and our families to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and we recommend to You, all the people of our country and all the world.

Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us as You wish to accomplish Your designs in the world.

O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and Queen of the World, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King. Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully.

We come with confidence to You, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love. Inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed Your own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Make our hearts and homes Your shrine, and through us, make the Heart of Jesus, together with your rule, triumph in every heart and home.
