CONSECRATION OF THE HUMAN RACE TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS

Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before Your altar. We are Yours, and Yours we wish to be; but, to be more surely united with You, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to Your Most Sacred Heart. Many indeed have never known You; many too, despising Your precepts, have rejected You. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Your Sacred Heart.

You are King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken You, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned You; grant that they may quickly return to their Father's house lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.

You are King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof; call them back to the harbor of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd.

You are King of all those who are still involved in the darkness of idolatry or of Islamism; refuse not to draw them all into the light and kingdom of God. Turn Your eyes of mercy toward the children of that race, once Your chosen people. Of old they called down upon themselves the Blood of the Savior; may it now descend upon them a laver of redemption and of life.

Grant, O Lord, to Your Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to It be glory and Honor forever. Amen.

Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart by Pope Leo XIII

Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before Thy altar. We are Thine, and Thine we wish to be; but, to be more surely united with Thee, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to Thy Most Sacred Heart. Many indeed have never known Thee; many too, despising Thy precepts, have rejected Thee. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Thy Sacred Heart.

Be Thou King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken Thee, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned Thee; grant that they may quickly return to their Father's house lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.

Be Thou King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof; call them back to the harbor of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd.

Be Thou King of all those who are still involved in the darkness of idolatry or of Islamism; refuse not to draw them all into the light and kingdom of God. Turn Thine eyes of mercy toward the children of that race, once Thy chosen people: of old they called down upon themselves the Blood of the Savior; may it now descend upon them a laver of redemption and of life.

Grant, O Lord, to Thy Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to It be glory and Honor forever. Amen.

Prayer to the Pierced Heart of Jesus

O my Most Loving and Gentle Jesus, I desire with all the affections of my heart, that all beings should praise Thee, honor Thee and glorify Thee eternally for that sacred wound wherewith Thy divine side was rent. I deposit, enclose, conceal in that wound and in that opening in Thy Heart, my heart and all my feelings, thoughts, desires, intentions and all the faculties of my soul. I entreat Thee, by the precious Blood and Water that flowed from Thy Most Loving Heart, to take entire possession of me, that Thou may guide me in all things. Consume me in the burning fire of thy holy Love, so that I may be so absorbed and transformed into Thee that I may no longer be but one with Thee.

TAKEN FROM THE BOOK OF SAINT JOHN EUDES

Jesus meek and humble of heart,
Make my heart like unto Thine.

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I place all my trust in you.

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
Forgive us and be our King.

Heart of Jesus,
Let me love You and make You loved.

O Divine Heart of Jesus,
Convert the sinners, save the dying, and release the holy souls in Purgatory.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus,
Protect our families.

In heaven and on earth be praised forever;
The loving heart of Jesus Sacramented.

In Heaven and earth be praised forever,
The loving heart of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

May Christ, Our Blessed Lord, be forever blessed and adored,
Our King for ever and ever.

The Heart of Jesus that Has Loved Us so Much Tells Us

Come to Me, all you who are exhausted by labors and crushed with sorrows; only in Me will you find true consolation in this life and eternal happiness after your death, for I am Love.

Let’s not Forget that the Month of June is Dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

The promotion of the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is due to Saint Margaret Mary of Alacoque, to whom Jesus appeared saying these words: "Behold this Heart which has so loved men that it has spared nothing, even to exhausting and consuming itself, in order to testify its love. In return, I receive from the greater part only ingratitude, by their irreverence and sacrileges, and by the coldness and contempt they have for me in this sacrament of love.”

Our Lord made to Saint Margaret Mary of Alacoque the following promises for all the devotees of His Sacred Heart:

1. I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life.
2. I will establish peace in their homes.
3. I will comfort them in all their afflictions.
4. I will be their secure refuge during life, and above all, in death.
5. I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.
6. Sinners will find in my Heart the source and an infinite ocean of mercy.
7. Lukewarm souls shall become fervent.
8. Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.
9. I will bless every place in which an image of my Heart is exposed and honored.
10. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
11. Those who shall promote this devotion shall have their names written in my Heart.
12. I promise you in the excessive mercy of my Heart that my all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays in nine consecutive months the grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in my disgrace, nor without receiving their sacraments. My divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.

There are three conditions to obtain these Graces:

1. Receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays in nine consecutive months and without interruption.
2. To have the intention of honoring the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of obtaining the grace of final perseverance.
3. Offer each Holy Communion as an act of reparation for the offenses committed against the Blessed Sacrament.

Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Saint Margaret Mary

I (N.), give and consecrate to the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ, my person, my life, my actions, my pains and sufferings, so that I may be unwilling to make use of any part of my being save to honor, love, and glorify the Sacred Heart. It is my unchanging intention to be all His and to do all for love of Him. I renounce at the same time with all my heart whatever can displease Him.

I, therefore, take You, O Sacred Heart, for the only object of my love, the protector of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my weakness and inconstancy, the atonement for the faults of my life, and the secure refuge at the hour of my death.

Be then, O Heart of goodness, my justification before God the Father, and turn away from me the punishment of His just anger. O Heart of love, I put my confidence in You, because I fear everything from my own sinfulness and weakness. I hope for all things from Your mercy and generosity.

Destroy in me all that can displease or resist Your holy Will. Let Your pure love impress You so deeply upon my heart that I may never forget You or be separated from You. May my name, by your loving kindness, be written In You, because in You I desire to place all my happiness and all my glory in living and dying in very bondage to you.

Amen.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You!
Sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation!

Supreme Testament

Let’s contemplate that scene whose sovereign beauty shocked the angels, in the Last Supper.

Jesus has just instituted the divine Eucharist... A shadow of infinite sadness... almost agony, clouds his adorable face...: he sees Judas there; the ingrate already has in his power the sum he has received to betray his Lord.

It would seem that John, the favorite, has guessed everything, reading this story of perfidy in the eyes of his Divine Friend... And as one who offers to pay, to repair that infamy, see how he approaches, how he embraces Jesus... And more; with a spontaneous and simple confidence he lovingly rested his head upon the Heart of Jesus...

Oh, and Jesus, pleased and comforted, rewarded that intimacy by reclining his adorable Heart in that of John, his apostle... and his friend!... In that moment of glory, He entrusted it to him, he certainly gave it completely to him... And since then, Jesus and John were united with an eternal bond... beyond life and beyond death!... Jesus is agonizing on Calvary!... At his feet, near John... closer still to the Immaculate Queen, Is... Magdalene!... On one side, the innocence preserved, and on the other, the recovered innocence!... And both, John and Magdalene, and by witness the Immaculate Queen, also received, in supreme testament, the Heart of Jesus!

Meditation on the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Taken from THE HOLY HOUR
Written by Fr. Matthew Crawley-Boevey
(1875 – 1960)

"Behold the Heart that has loved men so much... Contemplate It, my children, satiated with opprobrium, in this Host in which It beats, among fires of charity, for you... only for you! And being unable to bear any longer the ardor that consumes It, It has wished to surrender to the very world which has It pierced with the dart of ingratitude... This is the supreme and last resort of my redemption...

Here you have my Heart: I give it to you, I entrust it to you unreservedly, in exchange for yours, sinner and ungrateful... Oh, I am thirsty, I have an immense thirst to be loved, in this Sacrament of the Altar, in which I have been King of Silence, the Monarch of oblivion... But the time has come for my triumphs... I have come to regain Earth... Yes, I will subjugate it, despite Hell, and I will save it by the omnipotence of my Heart. Accept It, I beg you... give me your hands and your soul to receive this supreme gift of my redemptive mercy... I am come to cast fire on the earth, fire of life, of boundless love, fire of holiness, fire of sacrifice, and what will I, but that it be kindled?

Put your eyes on my wounded chest... there you have the Heart that has loved you to the lows of Bethlehem... and more; To the humiliations and darkness of Nazareth... much more so; even to the agonies of Calvary... This is the same Heart that stopped beating on Golgotha, yes, the same, that continues to love in the unquenchable bonfire of the altar... of the Holy Eucharist."

And you refuse to love Me!”
