Prayer to the Virgin Mary

O Mary, Mother of Jesus and our Mother, we turn to you on this day, for it was you who said "YES" to life. "You will conceive and give birth to a son," said the angel. Despite the surprise and uncertainty this would cause you, you said "YES." "Let it be done to me according to your word."

Holy Mary, we pray today for all mothers who are afraid to become mothers. We pray for all those who feel threatened and overwhelmed by their pregnancies. Intercede for them, that God may grant them the grace to say "yes" and the courage to carry their pregnancies to term. May they receive the grace to reject the false solution of abortion. May they be able to say, like you, "Let it be done to me according to your word." May they experience and feel the support of all Christians and know that peace comes from doing God's will.
